Default Conjunctivitis- how long off school

    Ds is 9.5yrs / grade 4
Conjunctivitis started today in both eyes and we started eye drops this morning.
Doctor said most likely the rest of the week off school (today is Tuesday)
    4 days seems a lot!
What do you think? I read once discharge stops they can return. So if his eyes are not red/no discharge Thursday/ Friday do you think he could go?
I also read 24 hours after starting drops.
    Thanks

I would go with what the doctor says, unless you can find reliable sources that say anything different. You don't want is spreading to the other children in the class.

    Thanks.
Better health channel said once discharge has stopped, so maybe on Thursday I’ll take him back to the doctor and see if he can go on Friday to collect any work he missed.
He already struggles with work :-(

Yes, as a teacher pleeeeeease dont send him back to school until a dr has specifically said he is right to go back otherwise everyone, teachers included get conjunctivitis. And totally nit a personal dig at you but as a teacher Im often shocked at the state of some kids whose parents keep sending them to school. Fair enough in the incubation period, before symptoms when theres no way anyone could have know but if they have a highly contagious infection this is how these things are spread. 4 days off is nothing in the grandscheme of things and it could save a hundred other kids from having 4 days off not to mention conjuctivitis. :-)
