Do you have RF seats though? A friend of mine has a CX 5 and I sat in the front seat one day with my knees just about jammed into the glove box. It was bloody uncomfortable. Shame because I am in love with the metallic red colour Mazda has and we were tossing up between the CX5 and the Forester. I am 100% happy with our choice although I was disappointed I didn’t get my sparkly red car haha. DH and I have talked about a CX9 in the future as I do love my Mazda 3. We had to put DDs second seat in forward facing as it pushed the drivers seat too far forward when it was RF (can’t access the passenger side when car is in garage).

No, we are forward facing now. Had RF in my old Mazda 3 with no issue.

We just got a Ford Everest Trend at the beginning of the year and really like it.

It’s a diesel and pretty economical. Also has 7 seats and 5 child restraint anchor points. The boot is huge and a still decent enough inside with the 6th and 6th seats down.

There’s heaps of room in the front even with two kids rear facing behind the passenger and driver.

A few months ago we got a Holden equinox and I LOVE driving it! I was a bit worried going from a v6 that I would miss the pick up but we got the LTZ model and it has a turbo which makes for a nice pick up while still having a smooth ride
