Nope. Just like us adults, if a baby is more active, their heartrate goes up. Then down when they rest.

FWIW, this was just for a bit of fun and curiosity. I know old wives tales are just that, old wives tales.

just a question to clarify, at what week does this 'theory' apply?

at 6+2, mine is 116 but at 7+2, it's 156. I had a brisk walk to the clinic on the 2nd scan so it might make a difference. but I heard the heartrate takes some time to settle so I'm curious when I can start guessing πŸ˜‚

I'm not sure what week the " theory" applies. But just to come back and say that it has proven true again for me. So all 3 pregnancies.

so the heartrate was consistently under/above 140 from the very first scan throughout your pregnancy? I had an early scan at 6+2 and it was 116. a week later it's 156 πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ apparently it fluctuates a lot in early pregnancy. don't know what to make of it.

This pregnancy, the heart rate has always been over 140. First scan was 6 weeks +. Its just an old wives theory but funny how it's been true for all of my pregnancies.
