Default Maccas fillet o fish, is the tartare sauce safe?

Been violently ill with ms and had the sudden craving for a fillt o fish. I asked the maccas staff about the tartare as in does it contain raw egg or is pasteurized and they had no idea. So yay or nay, would you eat them?

i would say all of the maccas sauces are safe. there’s no way they would make any of it fresh, would all be packaged therefore no raw egg, would be pasteurized etc.

it’s ridiculous but i always felt safer eating maccas when pregnant than going to a fancy cafe or restaurant for that reason. maccas is junk but it’s
so manufactured you know nothing contains any “real” ingredients

That's exactly what I thought. I did err on the side of caution but now feel silly. When I worked there many moons ago I remember it was all packaged in a big tube. Oh well, next time the craving arrives I will get one. Oh I totally get that too...fried food, maccas etc seems so unhealthy but is a safe option when it comes to listeria. Cheers for your reply x

    easy.

i know right, i found myself eating so much crap when pregnant as it was always the deep fried crap that i felt would be safest against listeria! it was so frustrating.

i ate a fair bit of maccas crap when i was pregnant, esp with dd. i craved subway but no way did i trust the salads so maccas was always my default go-to 🤣

It's not whole egg Mayo so should be fine

That said, I had plenty of whole egg mayo and hollandaise because it slipped my mind completely.
