Default Where to get immune testing?

Hello, I’ve just joined these forums. I’ve recently suffered my third loss (all conceived naturally). My fertility specialist (I don’t actually get any assistance - I saw him a few years ago for ovulation induction and just returned to him recently to manage my miscarriage) said there’s nothing wrong with me and it’s just unlucky.

I want more testing. How do I go about it? He did a basic blood panel 2.5 years ago after my first miscarriage and it was mostly normal. He didn’t seem keen to do anymore testing so I don’t know what to do? Any advice welcome!

I would probably see another FS. My original FS didn’t do any immune testing except for NK cells and was ready to push me through another cycle without further testing. Instead, I saw another FS who ran a whole series of additional tests and found all these other immune issues and tailored my next cycles based on that.

Lots of ladies see dr matthias. There's a thread I'll find and link it here.

Did you have natural miscarriages? Or did you have D&Cs? Just wondering whether one or more of the miscarriages could have been a chromosomal problem rather than immune?

Dr Matthias is your man. I see you're in qld. He deals with a lot of interstate patients with phone appointments and I think Skype? Will order all blood tests for you and tailor a protocol. My bloods came back "normal" through my fs too - but they weren't! Sorry for your losses. Good luck x

    Thank you for your help!

First was a missed miscarriage, d&c at 8 weeks. My ob was sure there was a fetal pole at 6 and 7 weeks but it disappeared by 8 and the testing came back with no fetal tissue.

Second was a d&c at nearly 14 weeks was chromosomal - trisomy - But I did also have multiple SCH. I had a huge bleed and gush of amniotic fluid at about 12 weeks. There was blood in her amniotic sac. So I wonder if those factors could still indicate immune/clotting even though she was chromosomal?

Third was natural at 5 weeks, very straightforward.

I did have a healthy girl after my 1st loss, and also a 13.5 yr old son if that makes any difference?

Thank you so much. So he can organise it all via phone? Does he need me to be working with a FS here? Any idea on cost?

Thank you! I don’t really understand much of what they’re talking about to be honest, this is all new to me.
Are there generally signs of immune problems? That thread seems to only be of women doing IVF?

I saw Dr M and have no signs of immune issues, no outward indications.
My only indications were 4 chemicals in a row, and an increasing frustration in transferring embryo after embryo with no answers as to why it wasn't working.
I did IVF as I am in a same sex couple, and IUIs didn't work for me. Perhaps if I was following an immune protocol from the very start, it would have worked. We'll never know.
In any case, I'm 33w pregnant following first cycle with Dr M. I have a 3yo DD from previous IVF cycle. My immune issues could have flared after her birth, or she was just a very determined embryo from the get go. Also one of those things we'll never know.
