    Default Lip tie!!

My son has lip tie and I’m wondering if his breastfeeding issues will go away if we get it fixed? He hates feeding in cradle position and just fusses and pulls off so we can’t feed him when we’re out because all the positions he likes to feed in require leaning back or laying down. Should this get better when his lip is fixed?

where theres a lip tie theres a high chance of a posterior tongue tie. I'd see a specialist paed dentist for assessment and possible laser treatment. also combine with bodywork, craniosacral therapy and ibclc help

ds and dd have upper lip ties but nothing that’s caused issues. get checked out properly though as they can be tricky to find

    All of this.

It can take up to 6 weeks to see full benefits. Baby essentially needs to relearn how to feed.

My baby had lip / tongue tie surgery which helped to a certain degree, but I think as his mouth grew bigger that provided the most relief . My sons ties grew back and we didn’t bother having them redone as the procedure was too much for me to handle twice although the laser is really fast it was hard. You have to do mouth exercises after the procedure which I found very challenging. Would I have it done again or next time if my next baby has issues - yes. I hope this helps XX
