Default Could I just be stupid??

I completed the child care subsidy application, we got given our subsidy rate and withholding rate, hours etc.

We have found a daycare we are happy with and want to enrol DS.

The day care centre gave me an estimate quote and the gap is way more than what I am expecting and what the centrelink calculator is telling me.

Am I missing something blatantly obvious here??

Our rate is 63% withholding 5%, on quote from daycare the CCS amount is equivalent to 47% only.

I have asked the day care centre and they aren't sure why there is a big discrepancy as they said they just have a calculator from centrelink that they put two figures in and it generates the amounts for them.

I'm a very confused women right now 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

First question id be asking the childcare centre is exactly what figures did they enter to come up with their figure?
The second is, what is the daily rate the childcare centre charges. Is it what you expected and used on the Centrelink calculator ?

I did give them a call and they said they put in the rate I provided them the 63%

And yes when I did the calculator it was based on their centre daily fee, hours he would be in care, days per fortnight and our correct CCS % which is what makes this so confusing.

Maybe you are not entitled to CCS for the number of hours you are looking at...? So you are getting 63% on some hours and 0% on the other hours, averaging out to 47%?

FYI - in response to your question ‘could I just be stupid’ - I think not

I did think that but we have 72 hours and we were only looking at 2 days a fortnight at 12 hours each unless there's a daily limit on hours?

We will be increasing to 100 though as I didn't realise I could include my travel between day care and work as part of the activity hours.

Hahaha thank you, it seems like such a straight forward thing to do yet it's proving so perplexing for me!

Not stupid, I don’t get it at all either. What we were quoted, what I got on the calculator and what we are actually paying are all different. I don’t understand it at all

Is the actual amount your paying even close to either? (Quote and calculator)

I think what I pay is less than both. The calculator showed the most, then the quote (it was actually more like a price guide thing) and then I pay a bit less than that. It’s all within $20 per day from the highest to lowest.
