    Default Era

Hi everyone. I have had multiple transfers but all embryos failed to implant. My recent one was a pgs tested. All immune tests are also done.

Has anyone done ERA test before? I am based in adelaide, would be keen to hear others who have done it here or in interstate and the cost involved.

    Hello @Needhope!

I have done the ERA here in Melbourne (last year) It’s a biopsy you have done at your specialist clinic. I was awake I won’t lie it didn’t tickle! They send the sample of cells of your lining to Spain. Took maybe 3 weeks? Cost 750 euros, the actual consultation/biopsy with my FS was $400.

I hated getting it done but I’m so glad I did as it came back stating Day 5 was NOT prime implantation day for me but Day 7! So all the day 5 embryos we had been transferring on Day 5 were 48 hours too early and my body had not had enough progesterone.

I think this test & intralipds & Filgrastim contributed to my first BFP in 3 years (miscarried) first cycle with me FS!

Also you said you’ve had all immune testing have you done Alpha DQ Match?

Feel free to ask me any other questions!

    Thank you so much @RubyT78.

I am not sure about the Alpha DQ Match. Is it a special test? I will ask my specialist about it this week. I was on mega folate, mega complex b, prednisolone, clexane and aspirin with recent FET. I also did the an endometrial biopsy for nk cells. I will get a full list of the results.

With the ERA test, did you have to do it twice to get to the 7 day conclusion? I have had 6 transfers on day 5 now. Still no signs of implantation.

No, I only had to do it once (thank goodness!) I think if I comes back “inconclusive” than you may have to do it again. It’s time consuming as you basically do a “mock” cycle as if your preparing for a FET but instead of a transfer day you go in and have the biopsy. I would insist on getting that Alpha DQ Gene Match. It’s only a Bt, some FS don’t believe it could contribute but if you & hubby come back a partial match or complete match there’s the answer to embryo not implanting. A GF of mine asked about it after having 5 miscarriages, 5th was a PGS normal embryo FS dismissed it so she got a second opinion low & behold her husband & her share a 50% match hence her miscarriages. Something to check out & eliminate!.

Will write down on my list to do when I see my FS this week.

I had an ERA test done and found that I should be transferring on day 6 as late in the as possible (my other three transfers were all in the morning). We did that with my last FET and I don’t whether it was that or the fact that I had quit my stressful job (or combination of both) but we got a BFP! We did end up miscarrying (well, it was a blighted ovum), but it was the furthest we’ve ever gotten so still a very big deal. Like Ruby, I’m also based in Melbourne and paid €750 for the test and $200 odd for the biopsy and consultation.

@RubyT78 when you prep for a mock FET was it a natural cycle or medicated cycle? Thank you.

Medicated. As when I go one for real it’s always medicated (not natural!) need progynova to get my stubborn lining up!

So I saw my specialist this week- He hasn't heard of DQ alpha gene match. He said I can do the ERA test but he doesn't believe I have a displaced window despite having transferred 6 day 5 embryos with BFN or no chemical pregnancy. The most recent one was also pgs tested and graded 4aa. He said I did an endometrial biopsy before and that coincide with my timing of scratch, which showed on the report. He also doesn't believe the window of implantation is that limited.
