Default Azoospermia + cystic fibrosis gene - advice needed

    Hi all,

Hoping for some advice or tips from anyone who has been through something similar....
where we are currently - We have had two no sperm results from sperm analysis, he has had blood tests done and unfortunately it has come back on his bloods that he has two cystic fibrosis variant genes. Next step is to see a genetic specialist and urologist to have further testing to see what out fertility options are etc. We have been told that they will do a biopsy to see if he has any sperm and if not our only option would be using donor sperm.

We are both in our 30's and
are obviously devastated as we were not expecting any of this. Can anyone recommend a urologist/fertility specialist in Brisbane?

Also, any tips or advice if you have been through something similar. Or if you have used donor sperm?

    Thanks in advance, Ann

I will come back and write more when I get a chance but if you search azoospermia there is a great thread with a lot of us in it, I’ll try and add the link.

But we have been in the same situation but we didn’t have the cystic gene, ours was azoospermia with no none cause. We went on too use donor and now have 2 beautiful children

Sounds like you partner could have the obstructive type of azoospermia. A testicular ultrasound might show missing vas deferens is he is CF carrier.
    Good luck with everything
