Finally after the Skyped and emails back & forth we have locked in a clinic. IVF Spain (Alicante) I know we’re not going to Greece. But wanted to ask for some “planning advice” did anyone plan a holiday whilst over there for transfer? If so, did you do it before the required time at the clinic? OR after transfer?

Looks like the time line is going to be 18th August - 27th August inclusive in Alicante. So I’m wondering does the beginning ever change? And are we safe to say fly in to Paris and spend a few days there? Or does the time of egg collection vary so we’d be safer to plan a wee holiday after transfer? Ugh I don’t know how to go about planning this next bit as it’s all up in the air!

ANY tips I would be most grateful! 🤞🏼x
Hi RubyT78, exciting that you’re in planning mode, your trip will come up quickly! I’m not sure how long you’ve got for your travels, but we arrived in Athens just in time for egg collection (our clinic were pretty set on the date for this), then went to the islands for a few days pre transfer. Post transfer we spent about a month between Greece and UK, so 6ish weeks in total.

I actually planned it so that we were there long enough for 2 transfers if needed and my clinic and docs were supportive of this. Thankfully 1st transfer worked, but if it didn’t, I felt like travelling with the next transfer planned would help me mentally and feel like I was still moving forward. Plus saved on flight costs if we had to go back. Not sure if that’s an option for you.

I was wondering if you are stopping your progynova and progesterone soon or if you have stopped already?
    Congratulations to you also!
I am seeing my OB on Thursday. Last time when I was pregnant through IVF, he stopped my clexane injections just before 12 weeks as he deemed the pregnancy safe. I went for a 7 week and 9-week scan with my fertility specialist this pregnancy and she has instructed me to stop meds at 12 weeks (which is this Saturday for me). I will stop once my OB tells me to. I will let you know what he recommends.

    Hi ladies,

I hope you don't mind me asking I am thinking about DE and going to Greece. How much did DE cost you in Australian dollars? I just want to get an idea of pricing. Any information will be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi,
I’m so excited I’m going to Embryoland in 10 weeks. Yippee. My husband and I are doing double donor. However I’m travelling with mum.

Medications for the donor is 900 euro.
    Embryo transfer 5900 euro.
Sperm from European sperm bank 500 euro.
Freezing, if lucky enough 500 euro.

    I paid 3000 euro deposit

It’s hard to say Australian dollars because it can vary.

When are you planning on going? Have you decided on a clinic?

    Thanks for your reply.
Still early days I'm discussing it with DH and making sure he's onboard with the idea.
That's exciting your off in 10wks. How did you decide on a clinic?

I went with that clinic from the high recommendation from this site. When I contacted Dr Nikos he was very easy to communicate, friendly and very positive. Plus I really wanted to do a fresh cycle and he could accommodate.
I’ve been contemplating donor for quite some time, maybe 5 years. It didn’t sit well with me doing double donor but now I’ve come to terms with it.
