Default How to induce period after miscarriage?

I miscarried at Week 10 naturally. It’s now 7 weeks later and I still don’t have my period.

Has anyone been advised how to induce a period after the miscarriage?

    Hi @Birdface

Sorry again for your loss xx

I would go see a fertility specialist or gynaecologist to get checked out. Eg did your HCG come fully back down to <5? Are they sure there is no retained products of conception (ie that you miscarried completely).

Periods can be erratic after a miscarriage so everything may be 100% normal, but you also want to be sure nothing else is going on so you can be confident starting again.

    Best of luck

Thanks. I did a test few weeks ago and it was 8. I would think I’m close to under 5 by now.

It’s just so much waiting! So frustrating.

What do the fertility specialists or gynaecologist prescribe to induce periods after miscarriage?

Yes unfortunately it does take a while. It took me a few months after mine (which was at 6wks) and my HCG dropped super slowly.

Sorry not sure what they prescribe to induce a period. Maybe talk to your GP?

After my first miscarriage at 15 weeks my period took 110 days to return.

My ob said if i didn't get my period around 6 weeks to come back and see him, so after 6 weeks of waiting i went back and had an ultrasound to double check everything was ok. I also had more blood tests done.
Everything came back clear so i was told to wait and see.
I believe trying to bring on a period chemically wont help as your body needs to find its natural cycle to allow you to know your approximate ovulation period to fall pregnant again.

Hang in there, hopefully your period comes naturally for you soon!

I miscarried at 7.5w last month and had a D&C. My first period back was a few days later at its scheduled time. However I am currently now on cd37. I saw my acupuncturist on Tuesday night who tailored her treatment to try and help my period come on. Not sure if it was that or not, but I finally started spotting today and assume I will get it within the next couple of days.

    Good luck!
