Default Camping Beds for a nearly 3 year old?

DD is about to turn 3, and although she loves her Baby Bjorn portacot, it's getting too small. She's still in a cot at home but we'll make the transition to a bed soon.
We're going camping for a week soon, and thinking about what bed to get for her. I'm leaning towards the Intex inflatable bed as below. Has anyone camped with this or something similar?

DD has been on a camp stretcher since she was about 3. She slept on it for 5 weeks when she was 4 as we did a trip around the NT in our camper trailer.

My 2 year old DD decided she could climb out of the baby Bjorn portacot last time we were camping. We ended up just using the mattress from the portacot that trip.
Is the mattress too small for her too? We’ve now got a mini Khatmandhu sleeping mat- the type you can roll up and use on top of a hiking pack.
We have a camper trailer so it’s already on a firm cushion- just needed something to tuck blankets into.

It might fit her still, but I'm thinking about what we can use for the next year or two. And bub no 2 will be taking the portacot soon (if we ever manage to get out again with 2 kids!).
We have the car and possibly a roof top bag, so storage isn't massive. We have 4wd mattresses which are great but take up sooooo much space. An air bed, thin mat, stretcher or something that packs down small is kind of what I'm thinking.
Seems the matts and stretchers are a more popular choice than air beds.

I find air mattresses bulky and a PITA to blow up. If they do get a leak it’s not great in the middle of the night. Also, depending on your set up, if they are directly on the ground they can be very cold.

Very good points! Considering we also hate air beds and have gone to 4wd mats, it seems a little unfair to put DD on an air bed!

The one we have is similar to this one but kinda tapers in at the bottom. It rolls up really small.
We too will be trying to get out with baby number 2 soon- due in August. Have a camping trip booked for cup weekend. Fingers crossed!

Thanks! I'm due July, and we might make it out around then as well, although last time we camped Cup Weekend (Apollo Bay) it was so cold it scared us off for nearly a year!

Haha were going to NSW/Vic border area. Hopefully a bit warmer! It’ll certainly be interesting with a young one. We didn’t camp with DD until she was almost 1.

We dont camp but when we travel we take DS’s junior BYO bed with us as often family rooms cater for families of 4 and we have 5.

Its a folding camp bed with a blow up mattress in it abs built in sleeping bag. Packs down to the size of a camping chair
