Default Where do we even start looking for an overseas DE Clinic?

DH and I are looking into DE IVF for age related infertility/repeat loss.

    Our considerations:
    - caucasian donor only. (**nothing against Asian donors - in fact I have four children from my first husband who was Chinese)
    - financial - we have good incomes but no savings as when we left former marriages we both lost a lot and pretty much started over, then spent what we had on IVF and a wedding. I'm looking into whether we can access superannuation to pay for overseas DE IVF
    - time - I am running out as even though I only had a naturally conceived daughter 3 years ago I will soon be 50

    Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

Oh and i accessed my super for os de ivf so it can be done. Basically it boils down to different costs at clinics, whether its important your donors share your characteristics, i.e. more blonde people in soyth africa, more Mediterranean features in greece and where you'd rather holiday. Oh and there's also threads for Spain and Czech republic. And USA but its very very expensive in the US. I read all the greece and sa threads from the very beginning and learnt heaps. I have a little girl now from greece. You basically email clinics and they set up skype appointments, usually for free.

    Thanks!

I have a friend who lives in Sweden and she went to Russia for her DE IVF and is very happy but I just looked up their prices and gasped (even though they offer a guarantee).

Being 8th generation Australian (both of us) with a good mix of ancestries including Anglo-Scots, Irish, Spanish, German and who-knows-what it is going to take a bit of figuring out where we'll find the best match. A lot of dark hair and eyes but fair skin on both sides.

I basically did no work at all today as I started reading threads here and didn't get around to anything else haha. Tomorrow I better earn some money! (I freelance so no work equals no pay).

    Thanks again for your advice

No worries :-) feel free to join our greece thread even if you dont go there. The process and all the questions, worries etc... basically the same no matter where you choose to go. The threads are so addictive, like days of our lives. I was always like "I'll stop as soon as I find out if so-and-so actually got a baby but then there'd be another lady join half way through that story and I'd have to see how things worked out for her...and so on and so on...🤣

Thought I’ll call put that some clinics may or may not let you choose the donor based on photos and donor information (a lot or limited, factual or verbatim).

A friend of mine has just gone to Greece and he shared they were not able to choose their donor by photos of info, kind of going in blind. They have however provided their requirements on features, and it will be faith in what the clinic assign for you.

Others can correct me if need be, it’s afterall a hearsay from my friend.

I just had a conversation with Supercare - pretty helpful! She asked me if a doctor had referred me overseas for DE IVF... truth is we stopped IVF just before getting pg with our 3 year old but the conversation we had then with Repromed in Adelaide was that my eggs were no good and DE would be our only hope. (clearly they were wrong). Do I need to go back to Australian fertility specialists do you think?

At 49 I am not keen to go back to any doctors who will ignore the good things (good AMH, excellent health, regular cycles) and treat me like I'm nuts. I guess a lot of women over 40 feel the same.

I think the age limit in Greece is 50? I only have 3 months until then - do you think it is possible to get this done in that time frame? I feel like we would only get one shot at it if we try a clinic with that age limit.

I know its possible to organise de ivf in greece in about 6 to 8 weeks, but im not sure about how long the supercare thing would take. I think mine was about 3 weeks so doable. I think you do need a fs because they have to sign the forms for the ATO to say you need donor ivf. The super withdrawal thing has changed a bit since i did it 3 years ago but supercare would be able to tell you for sure. My friend @stacey10 knows about sone clinics that treat women over 50. Hopefully she will pop in and help. She knows a lot.

The only problem if you go to Greece within that time frame is if it didn’t work and you had frosties you couldn’t use them or if it did work and you wanted a sibling if you had frosties, you couldn’t.
So, at your age I’d be sticking to countries that will allow you to cycle past 50.
Slovakia - no offical age limit but many clinics set their own age they will treat up to 50-52
north cyprus - easy to get treatment up until age 54-56 depending on which clinic ( have an extensive donor pool)
Russia - most clinics will treat to 50-51
Ukraine- no offical age limit, but clinics set their own
    Georgia - as with Ukraine
