    Eek!!! Any news yet??

I usually start calling my GP office from about midday to check if my results have come through. And then as soon as they have I then call my clinic because otherwise hey might not get around to calling me until 4pm. I don’t want to hassle my clinic but don’t mind annoying the receptionist at my GP haha

Do you have any advice for a 22 yr old starting IVF as a single parent?

Is there anything I need or should know about the process?
I have been researching like a crazy person, but I don't want to miss anything and I like having lots of information to read so that I make the most informed decision I can.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Mikayla
Sorry, I didn’t previously respond to you!

You seem so young to make such a big life decision like that! Definitely not judging though and I think every lady in this forum can relate to the feeling that our body’s just know when it’s time for a baby. That maternal instinct is so strong.

I’m sure you’ve had lots of advice along of the lines of waiting until you find “the one” etc. I mean, that’s my instinctive advice to give you but like I said, when you know you just know.

Aside from that, IVF can be an exciting and wild ride. You’ll learn something new everyday and we’ll be here to answer any questions we can x

    @SurferGalGC

I’m feeling very nervous and a lot of pressure
But I think that’s normal also after not knowing what to expect my expectations are Lower on amount of blastocysts to get if any
Wel when I went back to see my specialist I asked if the sperm quality was a issue and she said there was plenty of good sperm in there lol so didn’t really have a reason why we only got one. But said the one we got was a good one but my pregnancy hormone level was zero so looks like it didn’t implant at all 🤷‍♀️
She didn’t change up my plans much just gave me pregnol for my trigger that’s it ?
As u know having 3 kiddies already don’t know how long I’ll keep hubby keen to keep trying mainly just finically!
But wel see how we go! So happy U got ur positive

A bit of a personal question so please don’t answer if you don’t want to! Is there a medical reason for doing ivf single with donor so young or is it because you are really keen for a bub?
Yeah, aw wow! How have you found ivf? Personal question so no obligation to answer, but have you had much success with ivf?

I am mostly interested in injections and medications because I like to be well equipped with knowledge
But I am also interested in the thing they don't tell you or that you don't find on the ivf websites?

That's okay, I am currently 22, I turn 23 in June; and have always wanted a baby before I was 25 years old. I wanted to start ivf by august this year but I am beginning to realise it is probably unrealistic, so I will more than likely be 24 by the time I have a Bub.

I know I am young and I still have a lot of things to do in my life, but I would like to be a younger mum so that I can experience a lot more with my children. Plus I have polycystic ovaries, and have a higher chance of getting PCOS (as I have the polycystic ovaries, plus my mum and other family members on my dad's side have PCOS so I have a high family history)

    Hey that's okay.

Hahaha yeah I know, I am almost 23 though. I have wanted a baby for a very long time; and have been increasingly clucking as I time goes on. I completely agree with the feeling of knowing your body is ready, I think that's what I am feeling to be honest.

To be honest I haven't really had that advice, but then again I haven't told many people about my IVF plans, not ashamed or anything it's more I just don't want unwarranted advice. I completely get where you are coming from though.

That sounds awesome, define what you mean by wild? (Good or bad?)
Thank you for your response though, and I'm sure I can learn something for everyone on here. x

Hi @Singlemummatobe just wonderong if you have spoken to a fs yet as i woukd think at your age and using donor sperm they would get you to do IUI first. IVF costs around $5k at least with a medicare rebate and if you dont have a medical reason for needing IVF you arent eligible for the rebate and its going to cost upwards of around $8k. So i guess my advice is start saving money now and book in to see a FS as soon as possoble to discuss what you want so you can get a better idea of whether they'd even recommend IVF for you at this stage. :-) Good luck whatever you decide. xx

    Results are in and........

    I’m officially pregnant!!!

HCG came back at 298 and progesterone at 120.

I have to go in for another intralipid infusion next week sometime and organize my first scan.

I still can’t believe it! Just wanted to thank you all so very very much for all the support you’ve given me, it has sincerely made this rollercoaster ride a little smoother! Can’t wait to hear about more BFPs from you next week!
