Default Rainbow Fertility Clinic IVF experiences? Also..interstate for international sperm?

    Hi all, I'm new

My partner and I (we're both women) are looking into getting pregnant this year, hoping to use reciprocal IVF (clinic donor sperm, her 31 year old eggs, my 38 year old uterus!)

We've just booked GP appointments to get a referral so we gotta name a specialist. I love the idea of using Rainbow Fertility here in Melbourne...just looking to hear if anyone has used them yet and how you found the experience.

I'm finding the whole experience even just of researching options and working out what is realistic to be a pretty quick steep learning curve!

Also...anyone in Victoria found it worth travelling interstate for IVF just to access international sperm donor banks?

    Hi BBBB

MIVF has a partnership with a US spermbank, so you may not need to travel interstate. You could give their donor team a call to see if there are any international donors on their IVF list 😁

I would say go with the FS you click with and see what services the clinic offers. Some clinics, the FS does all the scans, the egg pick up etc other clinics the FS does the initial appointment and then hands you over to their “team”. Think about what experience would work best for you.

    All the very best!

My partner and I used CFC, which is the sister clinic to rainbow. As above, go with the clinic and FS you click with. You don't need to decide right away who that is- we went to Monash initially but it wasn't the right fit for us.
When it was time for us to choose a donor, we had about 6 to choose from. If I was CMV positive, it would have been about 15. We wanted a local donor, so for us the international thing wasn't a draw card.
