Default What fast food/takeaway did you eat during pregnancy?

yeah but you had prepared the salad yourself, that’s the difference. most people stepping into fast food/take out type places are in your family member’s position, that is, they’ve got no idea when or how the food was handled. hence better to err on side of caution to mitigate risk. i’ve got no issue with salad i’ve washed carefully and prepared fresh myself at home.

Yes. I agree and I'm the same. What annoyed me was the mother wouldn't listen when I said that I had cut it and it was safe. I don't care what her daughter ate, I was in no way suggesting she should have eaten it....It was purely in my own defence to being attacked 🤦‍♀️
Her reasoning, was that because I didn't cut it fresh *at the time I made my burger*. It was off limits. But how many pregnant women cut up veg for snacks and pack them for work, like carrot sticks... it's the same thing she wouldn't have it.

Absolutely! Hot, salty chips were all I could manage during all four pregnancies with morning sickness.

What are people’s thoughts on Mexican from Guzman or the like? That’s my main craving and I’m not sure about it. I like the burrito bowls so rice, beans, meat, salsa, cheese and avo.

I also eat good quality pizza when pregnant to get my charcuterie hit, I miss prosciutto and salami so much.

I enjoy those bowls as well, but I'm not 100% sure about in pregnancy. I'm not sure how fresh the rice is, how it's stored, and rice is a big one for food safety issues (hence the problems with sushi when not fresh). I know it's not the same, and defeats the purpose, but I'd probably beat the craving by making one at home.

Not sure about the Mexican. I got food poisoning from a popular Brisbane Mexican chain once so my view is tainted by the experience.

hrm i’d probably avoid guzman & gomez tbh. i love it too but it’s just the salad thing and not knowing how long it’s been sitting there. i’m sure plenty would get it but i know the anxiety wouldn’t be worth it for me.

good quality pizza i’ve no issue with. pizza ovens reach a very high temperature and so any potential listeria on meet or cheese would surely be killed at such temps. i too love and miss salami etc when preg and this is a handy way to get that hit.

ok so i just had my pizza sub with cheese hit. i skipped all salads and just got the cheese, salami and sweet onion sauce. i had it toasted plus nuked it at home for 12 seconds, there was steak coming off it.

it was a bit dry but it’s scratched the itch for now.
