    i just follow the obvious ones; no soft cheeses or deli meats and no alcohol (difficult ). i’m very careful to wash fruit and veg and i avoid the pre packaged salads too. otherwise, compared to my pregnancy with ds at least, i’ve relaxed a lot. it’s nice, i’m enjoying it more this time.

    I understand why people say that. However I have a friend who lost her baby at 24 weeks due to listeria. The chance that the food you eat has listeria is low, but if the food you eat is contaminated it is highly likely that you will lose the baby. I personally don’t think the risk is worth it.

    i’m so sorry for your friend. did she ever find out what it was that she had that was contaminated?

    No, it’s hard to work out. But it was possibly either a pre-made salad sandwich or sushi.
