Default Has anyone had one placenta and two sacs - MCDA twin pregnancy?

I'm not sure what I have just yet as I'm only 7w, but looking at my report they found one corpus luteum, so it's plausible that the egg split and they're sharing a placenta.

How did your MCDA pregnancy go?

    When did you deliver?

Were either of the babies growth ever behind and if so did you have to do anything in particular?

    Thanks!!

Hi! Do you have an ultrasound pic you can upload? The ultrasound technician should have been able to tell you if they are mono or dichrionic?
I have mcda girls who are 2 and a half. My pregnancy went very well and I was induced at 36+3 (which is full term for mcda should not go past 37 weeks) they were 500g apart when born. I was monitored weekly due to size difference but there was never any issue with placental function so kept plodding along! They were 5lb8 and 6lb8 when born. Feel free to ask any questions

@Mummy12, thanks so much! All I read of is horror stories for MCDA twins. They didn't tell me anything regarding mo/di placentas. I will ask next week though. I do have ultrasound pictures. The top one is 6w1d and bottom is 6w6d.

    (please don't quote)

DH thinks they're DCDA because they have very distinct rings that seem separate enough if that makes sense. I only ovulated from one side though. The joys of sending yourself crazy until the next scan.

That ultrasound pic is pretty conclusive!

Mine at 6 weeks was basically 2 embryos in one black area.. the couldn't find the membrane seperating them into 2 sacs until 8 weeks (very thin line). Whereas your ultrasound pic has 2 very defined black sections. If that makes sense

Oh and just to clarify.. they may be monozygotic twins... Coming from one egg... But have split very early on resulting in a Dcda pregnancy.. so if they end up being same gender and looking a like a DNA test will give you a conclusive answer

Identicals can be Dcda twins if they split very early,
    A little later, mcda twins,
A little later, mcma twins and a little later conjoined twins
