Default Negative blood type - bleeding/spotting

    Hi,

I am 9 weeks pregnant and last night i received my blood test results.
i was advised that I am a negative A blood type and my doctor explained to me the implication if my baby is positive.

Specifically, he did tell me if I bleed, that i should go to the hospital for an injection.

I just want to understand the term "bleed".

Currently I noticed that I have light spotting (brown colour discharged, TMI so sorry!!!).
Am I meant to be freaking out? or is it if i see fresh blood like periods?

I am going back to my doctor tonight for some further results but I am getting a little anxious over this.

    All information is appreciated!!

    Hi,
Could you call the dr's office and ask? Do they have nurses?
Sorry I'm no help, all the best

I asked this during my pregnancy too as I had brown spottIng & I also have negative blood. I was told it’s just the bright red blood. Brown spotting is fine. Of course this is just what I was told I’m not a doctor so if you’re worried please get in touch with yours

Also just wondering is your partner has positive or negative blood? They recommend the anti D injections for everyone but if you’re both negative there’s no chance your baby is positive. Apparently they recommend it to everyone because of course there are cases when the ‘father’ isn’t the real father. Obviously if you know then there’s no need for the injections!
