Does Santa take any items? Things you want to get rid of? I'm thinking of getting him to take DDs dummies in exchange for gifts but wondering how to set it up, if I've left it to late to start mentioning the swap. Interested in hearing if Santa takes items, how you explain it to the kids. Thanks in advance

Santa took ds dummies and bottles (separate occasions). Worked a treat. We explained that Santa needed them for new babies. Put them in s big Santa bag, wrote s note and the next morning there were gifts in the bag instead.
We did it during December, not Xmas eve!
Dd just gave hers to Santa. Well, she gave them to our elf on the shelf to give to Santa.

I’m interested in doing this too in regards to dummies. How long do you think they have to be for it to work? I’m not sure if DS will totally understand.

i’d love it if santa took bottles away but i hadn’t even thought of this. don’t think i’ll try anything as we will be away. i’ve told ds as the teats on his bottles break (he’s down to the last 3 of 6) we won’t buy more so that’s it. once the last one breaks, he will be a big boy who doesn’t need bottles. who knows, i’m hoping he just naturally gives them up on his own

Santa took dummies & bottles for the baby reindeers at our house when our girls were between 2.5 & 3yrs old.
Santa left a special little present wrapped in brown paper that said thank you for the dummies from all the new baby reindeers.

Santa never took stuff, but we had the DUMMY FAIRY who took dummies if they hadnt given them up by 5 (for sleeping not in public or out of the bedroom way tooooo much judgement) and left gifts in return.
