    Default Activities in Hervey Bay

After a stopover in Hervey Bay earlier this year we fell in love with the area and have planned a trip there in the new year. What activities in that area does everyone recommend for families with children aged between 6-14?

I’m not sure if it’s any good for the older kids but DS loved Reef World. He loved feeding the turtles. I don’t remember pricing but it isn’t big but was fun and you can leave and come back so can duck down to the beach for a bit in between - we did anyway lol

    Default Activities in Hervey Bay

Depending on what your budget is, Blue Dolphin marine tours do some awesome days out on the water. We’ve done whale watching with them many times and also a dolphin cruise. Only group I’d recommend up there.

There’s a water park thing there close to the bay on the esplanade. I’ve not been but my nephew loves it.

I love walking along the pier. I’m pretty sure its heritage listed and about a km long. Just don’t go out on a windy day. DH and I did and my ears were so sore when we came back in.

You can also do some day trips to Fraser Island. I think “visit Fraser coast” is the tourist page

We are making our way up to Hervey Bay on 29th of this month and staying for 7 nights.

We have booked a day trip to Lady Elliot Island and Fraser Island. I have my sister nearby so will catch up with her. Haven’t really thought of much else to do yet as we are staying right across from the beach and will spend a lot of time there.

I live in Hervey Bay, it's a nice place. My ex husband used to work on Lady Elliot. I never went over as the only way in is by tiny plane!
The beaches are lovely here and great for kids. The water park is definitely popular with kids, they have a slide now too.
I would recommend making the trip to Maryborough about 35 mins away if you're in the area long enough. Home of Mary Poppins and all. Google, it's a heritage town and I think it's quaint.
Hope you all have a good time here!

I’ve just recently moved here a couple months ago and there is a few things for the kids in Hervey Bay and definitely the waterpark is great and it is free just have to pay for the big slide but rest of it is free. Also just up from there is seafront park it’s almost like ninja warrior style which kids love to climb and it’s up high! I’ve never seen anything like it lol

There’s also the typical kid friendly activities here like the cinemas, bowling alley, and Timezone as well.

Here’s a link to the waterpark info/page below

We leave on 28th and staying overnight in Armidale then arrive on 29th, leave on 5th and then head to Gold Coast for a few nights.

Was just watching bushwhacked with my daughter because she’s home from school with vomiting and it was about Fraser Island and now she says she’s excited to go to Fraser Island.

They also mentioned this place on the show.
