Default Slow beta hCG - 6+3 Advice Please

    Hi guys,

I’m currently on my 5th cycle of IVF and I’ve had the below beta hCG scores.

Can anyone please share their experiences/knowledge or what to expect. Have an early ultrasound booked with my fertility specialist in the morning.

    Beta 1: 12dp5dt hCG 188 P4 32
    Beta 2: 14dp5dt hCG 293 P4 31
    Beta 3: 19dp5dt hCG 3890 P4 24
    Beta 4: 26dp5dt hCG 5900 P4 29
    Beta 5: 28dp5dt hCG 7200 P4 29

I have not had any bleeding, spotting or pain.

    Thank you

Hi there, I had very low initial hcg and then slow rising non doubling ones after. My 17dpo hcg was only 33 and then doubling time went pretty long like 120 hours when I was 5-6 weeks pregnant. So long as your hcg is rising there is still hope. Don’t give up and stay positive ! Hope your scan went ok. x

Just seeing your post now and wondering how you got on?

The thing is, when you look at the HCG charts of what is 'normal' the ranges of numbers are so broad. And there is only so much you can tell from a number.

With my first pregnancy my HCG was off the chart - well above the 'normal' numbers. And yet, it was not a viable pregnancy.

Others have below normal HCG and yet go on to have a happy, healthy baby. Although I do believe, for most cases, that you would hope to see a 60% increase in HCG every 48 hours at this stage.

So ... a scan will be your best bet to figure out what's going on. I wouldn't suspect an ectopic pregnancy as *usually* HCG is quite low with those. So your options I think will either be viable pregnancy, or a pregnancy that is not developing correctly.

I wish you all the luck in the world x
