Just finished my first first timers skirt. Has come up really good and was actually pretty easy too.
Anything else relatively easy for me to make that you can recommend?

Maybe the Seaside top/dress from the same pattern company? It’s rated as a beginner pattern so it’s still fairly easy but a bit more to it than the skirt. It’s actually a great one to have when you’ve got a daughter. I’ve made a few seaside tops for DD and she likes them because there’s no zips or buttons (she prefers to dress herself, dislikes dresses with buttons for some reason).

This is DD’s friend in a seaside top I made. I like this sleeve a bit more than the flutter sleeve as I don’t like the way the flutter tends to splay right up (like it’s a bit stiff) when sewn with cotton poplin

@Hollywood. Love that print.
I ended up making the seaside top with flutter sleeves. It’s wearable but definitely a lot of room for improvement.
I’ve also made a nappy wallet tonight too. Loving it so far.

I was asked to make a Christmas dress for DD’s best friend, but it had to be able to be worn after Christmas as a normal dress. Although it’s not in Christmas colours as such I made a gold sash for her to wear with it to make it look festive but because it’s not attached to the dress she can just ditch it to dress it down.
It’s the Tadah tea party dress with the long sleeve add on (short puff sleeve). Did the circle skirt to make it a bit more special and twirly. Haven’t done the buttons yet. Looking online if I can’t find anything at Lincraft tonight (Spotlight has totally S.H.I.T buttons so I won’t even look there).
I hope her friend likes it!
The mum offered to pay but I’m only really going to charge for materials plus a tiny bit extra. I was just happy to have a little project with a purpose!Last edited by Hollywood; 23-11-2018 at 10:23. Reason: Added a photo
