Default Norwest Private Vs Westmead Private

    Hi Everyone,

Just wanting some experiences with both Westmead and Norwest Private. What you did and didn’t like.

I’m due in April 2019 and have had a tour of both already.

My OB delivers at both and we live close to either (Norwest is about 10 mins closer).

    Thanks

Default Norwest Private Vs Westmead Private

Just crashing here because I was wondering the same thing! Hope you don’t mind OP! I’m currently still ttc but I was pregnant at one point and miscarried, and while pregnant I had the same decision to make, we also love close to both. When it (hopefully) happens again I will be asking the same thing

    No problem at all.
It’s a hard decision to make for anyone.
I’ve heard good things from friends that have delivered at Norwest.
But also that some midwives are pushy, but I guess you can get that anywhere.

Hello hive. I'm currently considering these 2 hospitals as well. I've heard Westmead Private has a new maternity wing and it's very nice! Has anyone delivered there recently?

Do you think it's worthwhile just touring both places and have a feel for it?

I haven't delivered at either, but I would go with Westmead Private for two reasons: It's minutes away from the Children's Hospital should you need specialist help post birth, and traffic from M2/Old Windsor Road trying to get into Norbrik is hideous in the mornings. If you happen to have a quick labour, the last thing you'll want is to be stuck there.

I know this is an older post and I commented earlier about TTC, well I’ve since had a gorgeous baby boy in May 2019 and am currently pregnant with his little brother. I decided to go to Westmead private and have just booked in to go there again, the midwives and dr’s there were fantastic, very supportive and kind. The rooms were just recently renovated a couple of months earlier and I had a lovely experience there. A good friend of mine went to Norwest Private and was very happy with it too. I’d tour both and see which one you like better.
