Default 15.5 month not walking yet

    Hi everyone,

My 15.5 month old daughter is not walking yet and it has me a little concerned.
She was a little late to sit and crawl - not worrisome so but just towards the back end of normal... she crawls really well and can lift herself up and move around holding on and can also use a walker quite easily when I put her up to it but isn't too keen and will drop to her bottom and tear off...she never uses it independently.

She had fluid in her ears which we recently got grommets for and she is very long for her age which I have read can impede walking a bit - I know up until 18months is considered normal but I'm just looking for reassurance, did anyone else have a baby that walked a bit late but wasn't delayed???

She is my third but my first two walked early so this is my first time experiencing this...

My middle child didn’t walk until she was 17 months old, she also didn’t crawl, but did a bum-shuffle kind of thing. She is now in year 1 at school and has won the cross country race and the 100m sprint at her school sports 2 years in a row, so late walking was no indication of future performance for her!

Ds1 was 15months when he started walking and ds2 was 1 day off being 1 when he was walking. No 3 I’d say for me will be up and running well and truly before they are 1.

All kids are different so I wouldn’t be worrying

It's a little younger than your dd, but my eldest walked at 12-13 months. She had only taken a few wobbly steps between dh & I up until that point, and then she just stood up one night and walked from one end of our house to the other so steadily that you would think she had been walking a while. She's always been the kind of kid that won't really do something until she can do it well.
Your dd may be the same
