Default Ivf athens or cathie sanchez egg donation / asian

    Hi guys,
I am new here and desperately need advise!
I am 33 with POF and I am searching for a egg donation clinic overseas and I am looking for an Asian/Chinese donor. I have contacted several clinics. The clinics that have been the most helpful via email are IVF Athens and Cathie Sanchez thai/malaysia.
With IVF Athens they sound very professional and super nice but in greece you can't see any egg donor photos, they told me they can help and provide asian donors but I am worried because I can't see a picture... how do you guys feel about this?
With Cathie Sanchez you can see donor profiles but is that really what you will get? I am worried. Also I don't have a local fertility specialist as yet who can assist in Australia with the overseas egg donation and do all my tests and scan. Any recommendations for a sydney doctor??
Please help any advise is appreciated as everything is so overwehlming and don't know where to start. Thank you

Posted on the other thread you are following re Cathy and Malaysian clinic others are using.
You can do all your blood tests and scans through your gp for overseas donor egg you don’t need a fs.
I went to Greece for DE but have never heard of ivf Athens so maybe avoid them. There is a good thread on donor eggs Greece. If you want to try Greece you could talk to Ruth Pellows ivftreatmentabroad.com however as you know you cannot see photos of donors and I think you would be very limited with finding Asian donors in Greece.

Thanks Moc24 for your feedback, I definitely do more research before I decide which clinic to choose. And I found the thread you mentioned very helpful. Thank you.
I did hear from embryoland in greece that they don't have asian egg donors, so I was happy to hear that IVF Athens can help with asian donors. I must say they were really nice and sounded professional. And ensured me that they would match me with a donor and use an asian donor. But I think I won't take that risk, considering I am not able to see a photo. All so overwehlming trying to find a clinic that I can trust. Thank you so much for responding to my thread!!!

@Petunia if ivf Athens have said that they can match you, then I doubt that they would say that if they couldn’t, it’s their reputation on the line..... at the end of the day most clinics don’t show pictures unless you go to a country where that is allowed and it’s usually baby pictures. Clinics are usually very upfront about what they can and can’t match.

Hi Petunia, I’m starting on the journey to decide on Asian egg donations too. Denyse Bernstein of Monash IVF at Bondi Junction has recently worked with Cathie. It’s a new relationship but they got a successful pregnancy for one of their patients so far, and they went to Penang hospital.

What else have you learnt about Cathie? I’m feeling rushed. They sent me some donor profiles but I was to decide in 48 hours. I haven’t as I don’t like being rushed.

    Hi Petunia,

Not sure if you have located a clinic as yet. If not, just wanted to give my opinion regarding IVF Athens Crntre. I have just recently used them to do a round of IVF using a donor egg. Im currently in my TWW. We decided to use them, knowing another couple were happy with their clinic.

I have found their service to be fantastic & such a better experience than I have had previously in Australia. (Had 3 failed IVF rounds in Australia using my own eggs). Prior to coming to Greece, I used a well known IVF clinic in Melbourne. I found the process to be not very personable & really just felt like a number. I would see my FS in Melbourne at the start of the IVF round & only after it failed! I felt the FS really didnt remember who I was at my subsequent appointments, & I would therefore need to refresh the FS memory on things (even though the FS is well regarded in the IVF field). Whereas with Dr Athanassiou (of IVF Centre); he was there for every part of the process.

He & his team are very professional. They also provide you with a Client Liason Officer. This meant that any question we had, Konstantina the CLO; ensured to get us the answer immediately.

    Highly recommend this clinic.

Hi, I am new to this forum and saw this post and wanted to share my successful experience with an overseas clinic:

    I totally agree with 77Aquarius.

I went to Greece recently and had a donor embryo transfer at IVF Athens Centre. Konstantina was my CLO as well. Thanks to their awesome IVF treatment, I am now 8 weeks pregnant and I am very excited! My doctor at the clinic is Dr Vasileos Athanassiou - he is kind, professional, knowledgeable and gentle. I have come to find out that he is world class IVF specialist.

Being 45, single and not able to conceive using my own eggs, and having had 3 failed IVF attempts using my own eggs, I knew this was my last resort. I chose Athens IVF Centre because of an initial skype consultation I had with Dr Athanassiou. If you are unsure, I recommend scheduling a free 10 minute skype session with Dr Athanassiou - I did this and was impressed with how helpful he was. Because of this I decided to go with that clinic and I am glad I did!

Good luck - I wish you the same success as I!

I’d been trying to conceive for 1 ½ year and had gone through 2 IUIs at a certain IVF clinic in Athens before me and my husband decided to take one last shot at IVF Athens Center. Today I am a mother of two adorable children, a 5-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son. I valued the straightforward yet human approach of Dr Athanassiou and his team: plain words, personal attention by all staff, step by step guidance from the very first moment of our contact. So @mammami you're right, it’s worth having a word with him before making any decision.
