Default transitioning to cot (from arms)

    ok

    baby is 9 weeks.

    nightime co sleeps

during day trying to move away from sleeping in arms to sleeping in cot.

9 weeks a good time for this? be persistent and do this with every daytime sleep? if she isnt taking how persistent? what to do when she wakes and cries? let her cry out for 1 minute? 5? 10? 20!? so many questions

really just wondering how to deal with resistance and how persistent to be with resistance!

    thanks!!!

Personally I think 9 weeks is too young to be pushing independent sleep. Have you heard of the fourth trimester? Might be worth googling.
If you do want to try popping her down for naps then maybe start by warming the cot with a heat pack and making sure there’s something that smells familiar in the cot too. Remember your baby is still very young though and any crying I’d really encourage you to respond to ASAP.

Either sit down and rest with the baby (very good for mum and if at all possible should be done) or use a baby carrier.
If this is the first baby it is just so essential to relax and enjoy that time. Yes there might be things to get done but do them when bub is awake. Just tell mum to put her feet up! Soon enough babe will be dropping naps and rest will be scarce.
