Would you meet someone at a Maccas to buy a microwave?
Is this strange to you?

Microwave is a bit strange to me only because it's so bulky/heavy
But yes I have met in public places to buy items. It makes a lot of sense if the person is busy/travelling through or maybe just doesn't want randoms at their house.

I’d rather buy a new one cheap from Kmart and get a warranty with it

I would, yes. I've sold a lot of stuff on my local BSS and always meet in a public place. I don't like random people knowing where I live...

I can understand not wanting people to know where you live. To be honest my first thoughts were "stolen goods!" or that it might be broken. haha, my suspicious mind!

No I wouldn’t.
Not entirely odd though, as others have stated they prefer meeting at a public place and I understand the reasoning behind it.

For something like a toy sure Id meet at maccas. For a microwave, you cant tell if it works so no I wouldnt. (Rare that microwaves fail, actually).
Some people probably ask to meet at Maccas due to bad experiences in the past with people demanding refunds for things that they themselves broke. Or so Ive heard.
There is the possibility its stolen, but really you have that anyway.
