Default IVF specialist in Sydney recommendation please

    Hello ladies

I'm a first time poster here. Thank you all for sharing your experiences. IVF, I've found to be a lonely road and coming in here has helped me a great deal.

I'm 35 with 12.5 AMH and husband is 36. No known issues, except that husband smokes and has been working hard on quitting/reducing the no. of cigarettes. He's on menevit. I'm on ubiquinol 600 mg, folic acid 5mg, elevit and probiotics. We've done 3 cycles so far:

IVF cycle 1 - 11 eggs; 4 made it to day 5 blast stage; 1 fresh transfer; 3 sent to biopsy, 1 normal out of the 3 & frozen; BFP but ectopic and terminated.

FET Transfer 1 - Transferred PGD tested normal embryo, ended in chemical pregnancy

IVF cycle 2 - 6 eggs; none made it to biopsy stage; no transfer.

IVF cycle 3 - 8 eggs; 1 blast and 1 early blast on day 5; both transferred and ended in another chemical pregnancy.

Given the repetitive failures, I'm looking to change doctors. I'm currently with IVFA. Please are you able to recommend other specialists in Sydney?

Oh and also no clotting disorders or thyroid problems. NKC in blood is quite normal. No MTHFR too.

I will be grateful for any responses.

    Thank you in advance.

Hi tearose, sorry to hear about all the failed pregnancies
I was with a private FS for a couple of years she was great..Dr Ann Clark - Hurstville. fertility first

I am now under public system as I am doing my Ivf with Westmead fertility clinic as the costs are so much more affordable. you need to see one of the FS that are associated with that clinic so I am seeing dr Ashley Fong atm and she seems good for now.

Thank you so much for your reply MrsB93. I have been following you from other boards and I'm sorry for all your negative outcomes so far. Sending you prayers for success very soon...

I looked up Ann Clarke, problem is she is too far away from us and also a friend of mine that went to her wasn't very happy, a bit unsure. I shall look up Dr. Ashley Fong. Thank you again so much for your reply XX

    No worries
Thank you! This journey is very difficult. Especially mentally but always need to try and stay positive.
I had a similar issue recently after my hysteroscopy last year I was never told of the outcomes of my polyps. 6 months later when I went back to say that I hadn’t conceived naturally yet she finally told me that the surgeon did say it looked like polyps however when it was sent to the lab the results came back that they weren’t polyps ... I still haven’t been told till today what they were

Yes I’ve been with Ashley throughout my ivf cycle now so very recent but she genuinely seems like she cares and is trying her best to make it work for me and hubby.
You can always get appointments with her pretty quickly aswell which was a bonus for me ! Goodluck

You are absolutely right MrsB93, I need to stay positive. How frustrating it must be, going through a surgery and still not be given proper results. You are doing very well despite it all

Thank you, good luck to you too

She is pricey. The other week I visited and paid $240... when I went on a weekend with my hubby it was close to $500 as it was my initial consultation. However I have reached the Medicare threshold now so I got back $214 from the $240 I paid

I have booked appointment with her today and got early next week!! I am really keen to start my next cycle soon.
Is it a long process to start IVF after dr's appointment?

I was thinking of getting my medical details from last cycle and get things moving fast.

    Thanks @TimewillTell
I am now feeling very positive about Dr Fong. I was worried about choosing wrong FS in rush when I got early appointment.

I am also looking at options to transfer my medical history from November cycle last year to avoid going though a whole lot of tests again.
Hoping to start around mid April. 😊
