Nope has to be only from same donor for their reporting requirements.

If you go two and it works there’s a 50% chance of twins. So I guess I’d only put back two if you think you’ll be ok with twins.

I plan to do a double transfer but that’s trying for #1, so I’m ok(ish!) with twins if it comes to it.
@midnite01 just me, but I’d probably use the one from your original donor first for the chance at a full sibling? That’s awesome you have embies with the sister too though!

@Chmeille Apologies but I can't remember, are you doing this solo or with a partner? I think some the girls were having more success with frozen embryos, and this was backed up by data from Australia clinics.

Hey @midnite01 what grade is the single original embryo....similar to your successful transfer? If it were me, I wouldn't be able to discard 8 month old's full sibling embryo. So I'd plan for two back to back trips and use the single embryo first.

I’m considering going back end of year to CFC for baby number two. I have 11 frosties. I am not sure whether I should transfer one or two embryos. First round I did one freshie and it worked. I’d prefer not to have twins the second round but not sure whether the success rate highly reduces with frosties.

I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
@Chmeille I think success is just as high with frosties as long as they thaw well. With this last and 5th attempt, I put in 2 for the first time and will find out on Thursday if both took (pretty sure it’s a singleton as hcg not outrageously high). I don’t already have kids though so can understand the reluctance to put 2 in. @midnite01 I’d probably go for a full sibling so I’d put that one back but do think it’s amazing that even if it didn’t work you have the next best thing. Good luck with your decision ladies.

Good luck with your scan @Shelter75!
@Chmeille I agree FETs pretty much have the same success rate these days. Best of luck whichever number you decide.

I have a partner. The embies are using his swimers lol. I didn’t realise that about the frozen embryos - tnx for the info.

In that case I’ll defrost a few and put the best one in.

I’m glad I didn’t try for twins the first time. My baby is so full on.

@Chmeille If bubs is full-on I'd be very very inclined to only transfer one. I'd chat to your nearest and dearest, and the girls on here, about their experiences of going from one baby to two, or one baby to twins. Also re defrosting a few, if you book an early slot in the morning, they can thaw a highly graded embryo, give it a few hours and see how it's thawing before making the call as to whether to thaw another. Obviously they make that call in consultation with you.
