    Default Weightloss/Fitness support thread

I joined a gym this week! So excited. It’s several years since I last had a gym membership! I’m focusing on weight lifting to build muscle, as I’ve found this to be the best way for me to keep in shape. Muscle burns calories just sitting there so if I lift a few days a week I should start to transform my figure.

I’m currently a normal weight and most people look at me and can’t see any issue, but I used to be super fit and strong and I want to be like that again. I’m happiest when I’m toned and fit. Plus I’d like to get back to the pool to do laps occasionally and that requires a certain level of fitness (I generally swim over a kilometre of straight freestyle in one go).

Anyway so today was my first workout. Felt so good to lift weights again. Once I feel like I’m a bit stronger and fitter I’ll think about doing one of the classes. I think I’d just about die if I tried them too soon, lol. Baby steps for now!

i have been going to the gym as often as i can, i aim for three or four times a week, but some weeks it just doesn't happen. So I have been focused on my portions and really limiting the softdrinks. I have finally made it under 80 kgs. 78.9 today. I was over 82kg, so this is an improvement. It would be better with more exercise, but at last I can see some changes. marie.

I'm totally failing again, I lost 13kg earlier in the year, and have put a good half of that back on already.

I'm not exercising enough, but exercise isn't really my problem, my fitness is ok and I'm not too bothered about that. It's my food. I eat so much junk, and I know I need to stop, and i hate myself for not stopping, but I also don't want to? I'm a junk food addict. It's so bad, I just can't stop eating it, and I don't want to! But I want to want to.

I've lost around 15kg in the last 6 months through being careful about what I eat and lots of walking. I have a way to go but thankfully I now have a normal bmi. I am thinking of joining a gym because even though I have lost weight, I'm not really very well toned ie I am thinner and have less fat but no muscles or waist for that matter and clothes still don't look that great on me.

I'm joining this thread. I've put on some weight in the last 6 months so want to lose about 5kg. I have hashimotos so I'm expecting it to be difficult. I think I'll need to cut down on chocolate and exercise more regularly. I'll start with a daily walk and see how I go.
