    Default Transferring embryos interstate

    Hi ladies

Has anyone had their frozen embryos transferred interstate? Was it a relatively easy process?

    TIA

Hi Tinkers, I personally haven’t I’m sorry. I would ring whoever you’re with & ask their process/costs associated. I’d hope they’d be pretty good about it. Or maybe ring the clinic you’re wanting to go too & ask them?

Hi, I transferred mine from Vic to Qld, it was relatively easy, your receiving clinic will organise the collection & transportation, your storing clinic will require signed release form from you, you would need to pay both sides.

@Btae thanks for the info. My biggest fear is something happening to my embryos. Eg defrosting in transit or getting lost .

@Tinkers, the actual transport is pretty easy. I haven’t sent anything interstate, but have had frozen sperm sent from Brisbane to Cairns with no issue. My developing embryos were sent ‘Fresh’ back to Brisbane for PGD testing. One of those resulted in DD. I do however blame her love of flying on that experience. She is only 4 and has clocked up more than 50 flights.

There are pretty good protocols in place to make sure everything is handled correctly and end up at the right place.

My clinic used courier service so everything went according to plan, maybe speak to your receiving clinic their process for transferring embryos.
