Default My experience with fertility SA

I know it's a scary feeling to finally decide to go IVF path. Now I am 31weeks pregnant and would like to share my experiences with those people still struggling in their IVF journey and may help them to make a better decision.

I have 5 ivf cycle with 'fertility SA', every time after my egg retrieval I had terrible pain for about one week. I had also terrible pain after each embryo transfer. Not until I finally give up on them and had my Number 6 IVF cycle with another fertility company, I thought all the pain is normal after egg retrieval and embryo transfer. Now I am 31 weeks pregnant, finally realised all 4 years of treatment I had in fertility SA are totally waste of my time and money. The treatments I had in fertility SA brought me no success but numerous painful experiences physically and mentally. I have been asking for PGD from the beginning of my treatment, but the doctor in fertility SA don't listen. 'Bad luck' is the only reason they give to me for my ivf failure. I can't remember how many times I have heard the word 'bad luck 'from the mouth of their doctors and nurses. Keep trying using the same or similar treatment was their only way to help me. Seriously they need to improve their skills and advance their ability. The success rate that they advertised is totally misleading. I would be considered success 3 times with their IVF treatment by them even though they all ended up with bio chemical pregnancy.

Please choose carefully and change if you need to. You're all beautiful people and deserve the best results.

Congrats @Jenny11 on your pregnancy! So happy to hear after all the time, heartache and money your dreams are coming true. Was your successful transfer your first PGD tested embryo or did they try a different protocol, treat for any auto immune issues? I'd love if you had the time, if you could PM or post who you saw at FertilitySA and who you are with now? I switched from Repromed to FertilitySA but sadly same results...

I had the same horrible experience with Fertility SA. We did 7 double embryo cycles with them and they left me undiagnosed with a toxic Fallopian tube and adenomyosis. I had 2% chance of success with those conditions. We swapped to Repromed for our 8th cycle. They diagnosed the issues in the 20 mins of my visit and I was pregnant on my first cycle with Repromed, my son is now 3.... I now am in the TWW for our last ever cycle as I now have impaired ovarian disease... Repromed gave me my miracle! Without them I would t have my son!
If I had the time and energy I would have pursued my legal options against Fertility SA....

Who did you see @GStef at Repromed? How was the fluid diagnosed in your Fallopian tube? Wishing you all the best for your 2WW. I just received the news of another chemical this afternoon

I’m so sorry!! We have Dr Tremellen! He been amazing for us. Ultrasound first and as it was suspected to be blocked I had the dye test done.

I did the Health & Wellbeing program at Fertility SA. The staff sent emails to the class and left our addresses visible. One of the other women in the course is taking action about it, and her lawyer and investigator contacted us multiple times. The investigator worked out who we are and where we live from my email and came to our house to ask questions and ask us to join the complaint against the clinic. I understand the woman wanting to complain but we just want to be left alone. None of it would have happened if those idiots at Fertility SA had known how to use Bcc in their email client!

I saw Dr Hull and Dr Semmler... both of these doctors left me undiagnosed with Adenomyosis, and also told me it’s bad luck and only a matter of time before it worked!

Hey @GStef I'm now back at Repromed also seeing Prof T (was a patient of Dr S at FertilitySA, was a patient of Repromed before that). How are things going with you?
