I have had a very lazy day. I’m feeling a bit down actually. No particular reason.

We had a day at home today. The carnage is unbelievable - DD leaves a trail of her activity everywhere she goes. Watercolour paints, a book corner she set up, a massive box she decked out with pillows/blankets etc to sit in, yarn she was plaiting into friendship bracelets, cut up paper from who knows what...so tomorrow’s activities will include cleaning up

My DD is exactly like that too! Drives me INSANE. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to or like how much mess kids make. I like things in their place so I feel out of control living with a child who creates so much mess.
I found a couple of memes I’m sure we can all relate to:

First night in our new house. We don’t have beds or anything so everyone is camped out in their new rooms on the carpet. I let the kids watch movies on their iPads to fall asleep as a bit of a special treat. I’m laying down feeding my babies. Going to go eat some sneaky Tim Tams once they fall asleep.

Its been busy-ish. The neighbour came over to play with DS/DD today. No swimming lesson as it was cancelled so we went grocery shopping and bought more coffee beans.

Have been doing random cleaning - started the junk room.

Cleaned the bedside tables, top of our cupboard. All the washing is done, folded and put away. Watching Elf.

Finished work this morning. Came home and waved off DD for a day with Nana and Pop the went to bed. Woke up and sat on the couch with a bowl of cheezels watching tv. Such a novelty to not have to even think about anyone else for an hour. Then picked up DD and we’ve just finished a delicious Indian takeaway dinner.

We were going to indoor bowls tonight but the kids weren’t listening and kept stuffing round and screaming in the car so we didn’t even make it out the driveway. They got sent to bed early as punishment.

And DH is not home yet from hos reunion. He had said multiple times that he 'probably won't make it to the end of drinks (7pm) and will get home by then'. Its after 8. Not a peep from him. No response to my text. So now I am worried something has happened to him. Cause anxiety...

I’m enjoying my kid free weekend a little too much, lol. DD’s dad couldn’t have her for his previous two weekends (so basically didn’t see her for a month) because he was on a tour of Ethiopia (as you do ). Anyway so this is the first kid free weekend DP and I have had for weeks. It’s so wonderful to have not had kids to worry about since Friday night. I’m just at home right now, had an omelette for breakfast and am doing the dishes while I wait for my latest fabric purchase to pre-wash and dry so that I can start sewing.
I adore my kids, but it is total bliss just being by myself at times. DP’s working at the dairy today so he’ll pop home for lunch in a few hours.
