Default Egg Donation in South Africa #15

We are also heading back in August. DH is searching for our flights as I post here. Looking to arrive 21st for transfer 23rd then back home 26th. We looked the other day to see prices and were pleasantly surprised but now that we are looking again 24hrs later and the prices have jumped $400 per ticket. How can that even be!
Good news is we have a donor that fit every criteria we had. Tests nearly finished with Dr M and a drug protocol beyond belief. All bases are covered and all that is left is for a good transfer and a positive result. Please let the stars align for us this time......

Tell me about it @Outoftime. I booked our September flights this week and was super disappointed to see that the Qantas sale had finished before I'd been able to finalise our plans.

@wazbub. I should never be surprised. This whole IVF journey of our has been nothing but disappointment followed by financial ruin over and over so one more kick in the guts should have been expected. I know that sounds very negative but, true. It is time for our luck to turn.

Yeah it's very hard with the constant disappointed to pick yourself back up and keep going. It took us 5 years before we were successful with the twins in cape town. I have to keep reminding myself that this FET isn't a sure thing and i may be coming home empty handed. I don't want to be suprised by the hurt and disappointment that comes with a failed cycle.

Hi ladies we are also heading back at the end of August. I have found a site called justfly.com which seems to have cheaper flights than most sites.

    Default New to bubhub

    Hi Ladies
This is my first post on bubhub.
Firstly congratulations to all those who have given birth and are pregnant, it is certainly a stressful journey we are all on.
Like most of you I am in my 40s and have had many miscarriages, have had 3 DE transfers in Greece which resulted in 2 miscarriages and 1 BFN. I seem to be able to fall pregnant ok my problem is holding on to them. With time running out I am thinking about trying SA. I have also emailed Wazza for help although I am in Perth I am hoping he will still treat me as all I get from fs here is 'it's a numbers game, it's your age'.
I have read through you thread and thank you all for the great information.
I am particularly interested in bringing embryos to Australia as all the flights are just so hard. I think it was @Blu who bought embryos in? I was wondering how you got past the 'known egg donor' laws? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Have a great weekend

@Moc24 - welcome. Definitely investigate the immune issues with Wazza. I am not aware of anyone bringing embryo's in because of the significant cost and the donor would have to agree to Australian laws. You will find that Cape Town is so much cheaper than Greece in terms of both flight costs and travel time.

Everyone that is investigating flight costs - just a hint ...... when you do a search for a flight on your computer, the website leaves a cookie so the next time you return and do the same search, it will often only return more expensive flights. So, if you are constantly searching the same flight/routes you will notice the costs going up and very rarely down,. To get around it, delete your cookies cache before you do a 2nd/3rd/etc search or use a different computer/phone/etc. If you don't have access to another computer, try a different browser eg if you normally use Internet Explorer, download Mozilla Firefox and use that instead. It is an expensive business this baby making stuff, so it is important to save money where you can !

We just booked our flights with SAA, $1700 per person. 😳 We are heading over on 19th Aug and returning on 22nd! Quick trip, but leaving our babies home with my parents so want to be as quick as possible. 😊
On the up side, we purchased my depot injection through HPS Pharmacies (I'd never used them, but my FS had) and it was only $180!!! Sounds a lot, but I paid over $300 for my last one!! 😞😡 my FS said he couldn't write it on PBS. 😞😞
