Smile Mirena removal to ttc bub #3

Hello, I'm new to this awesome page and I have a question

I am getting my mirena removed by my GP tomorrow to try for bub #3
I have been told that because I have never given birth vaginally, I will
need to be sedated? Is this the case? please let me know your thoughts

I cant imagine why - I had mine out recently, have never had a vaginal birth, and didn't feel a thing. Sedation sounds a bit extreme.

    Good luck with #3.

I had my first mirena in under sedation as I didn't have any children yet. But, when I had it removed, it was easy! No sedation required

Couldn't imagine why they would say that. It's literally 30 seconds like a papsmear with a small tug to take it out

Having it removed was easy!! No more uncomfortable than a Pap smear. It's putting it in that hurts but even then you wouldn't be sedated I don't think.

    Thank you ladies!

It was fine, didn't feel a thing

Question, how long after removal did you get your first period ?
