Default Anyone doing IVF for gender selection in Australia or OS?

    Hi

We have been approved to do gender selection in Australia with our lovely OB due to genetic reasons.

Just wondering if anyone else is looking into it or in the process.

Im nervous but excited ... have the forms beside me but I haven't signed them yet.

    Hi,

Gender selection can ONLY take place in Australia if their is a genetic component that can be avoided by choosing one gender.

This I fully support. I do not support gender selection for simply picking boy or girl.

Other countries do allow gender selection and they have become unbalanced.

But I wish you well because yours is for genetic reasons.

If your approved for gender selection I think it would be cheaper and easier than going overseas so go for it here in Australia.
We had 2 boys and considered it for number 3 but going overseas would have cost a minumum of $15,000 and difficult spending the length of time in Bangkok with 2 littlies etc. We didn't opt for it in the end but I don't see the issue in being able to choose the sex if you already have a few of the same sex for those having to do ivf anyway. I am glad to have 3 of the same sex now and once pregnant with our 3rd I actually hoped for another boy strangely enough. Dh would have liked a girl but he is thankful we have the 3 spunky monkeys we have šŸ˜„ Good luck to you

Thanks. Our ob is supportive of our reason. He actually made us aware of PGD at a causal meeting.

3boys .... I think we would have had a 3rd boy but hubby wouldn't let me. I've only just given away all my boys clothes.
