Default Ready for #2, DH is not. Now what?

I'm not a big poster here but I just need to vent. We have a 9 month old and I am ready for baby #2 but hubby has said no, flat out - no more kids. I feel like I will die without a second child, I need to give her a sibling. DH is an only child. What am I supposed to do? Some people have said to wait a bit longer, wait til she's a bit older so he is enjoying her more. But it seems like either HE will be unhappy the rest of his life (his words) if we have another or I will be devastated the rest of MY life.

How to resolve something like this when there is NO compromise. It's either yes or no.

Has anyone else been in this situation? Any advice? How do I get him to come round? I'm 34 already so don't want to wait much longer. It's consuming me.

How do I get him to change his mind?

But he finally agreed that we would try for another one! we have been trying for 6months now but I guess all u can do is give it time and he might come around. Good luck 😊

So this was me and my DH after our first was born. I dont know how I got my DH to agree. Well, I lie, I had to sign an agreement that i wouldnt ask for a third (it was a joke agreement) because he thought it was just because I am incredibly clucky.

But I just kept telling him how important to me it was to have a second. Money was a concern so i showed him how it could work. He eventually agreed and I fell pregnant when DD was 2 years + 1 month. We unfortunately had a miscarriage and then there was no argument that we would try again.

By the way - no regrets with having a second. From either of us.

This was me and DH. Except I was the one who didn't want a second. I was pretty much traumatised by my first birth and I was 100% against having another child. We went to see a psychologist together a few times and both talked about how we were feeling. Hubby got to understand where I was coming from and I got to see his point of view. We eventually came to an agreement and dd2 is almost 3 weeks old. I love her with everything I have and wouldn't change it for the world. I would suggest both going to see someone x
