Default Low AMH & falling naturally

Just loooking for good stories about this. I know it's no thr be all and end all but it is an indication and now I'm worried.

I had the test 2 years ago at 29 and it came back 11.9, which was low but not super low. Wasn't in a position at the time to start TTC.

I've just had it re-done and at 31 years old has now dropped to 4.3......

I'm getting married in September & then planning on coming off the pill.

Just a bit of a shock & hoping to hear some positive stories.

I know a few women with counts of 10 and under and fell relatively easily. My advice may be to look into egg pick up and freezing them, especially if you want a few kids. AMH is a relatively new test. My gyno said he wasn't a fan of the test as it gave readings all over the place and is more a trend. So yes, you don't have great egg numbers. But it certainly doesn't mean the 4.3 the test reflects.

Default Low AMH & falling naturally

My low AMH was caused by endometriosis so try and rule that out first. Once I had it excused, my antral follicle count doubled! I've heard that AMH gets signals from healthy eggs, thereby giving the reading. But if you have endo, your eggs may not be healthy and so the AMH test is not as accurate as it could be.

Have a look at this link I've found:

    Very interesting

I had mine tested at 36 and it was 1. It was such a shock. I was single at the time and contemplating having a baby solo as I felt my time was running out. So when I got that result it sent me into complete panic and despair. Tried ivf but had one canceled cycle as it was a poor response. My FSH was too high so FS said not to try again until it lowered (if it lowered which it didn't). So after quite a few months Of monthly bloods monitoring my FSH, praying it would lower so I could try again I started suffering terrible anxiety. After counselling and taking meds I got myself back on track emotionally and decided to put aside the thought of having a baby as it just wasn't going to happen for me. Fast forward about 6 months, I met a lovely guy. Had unprotected sex just once and bam got pregnant! It was only one time we were not careful and it never entered my head i would get pregnant after everything I'd been though. When I found out I was pregnant it was a such a huge shock, I kept waiting for things to go wrong. But they didn't and I now have a gorgeous 2 year old! My partner and I had only been together a few months when I fell pregnant, he was amazing and we are now married. So there's definitely hope. Wishing you all the best x

This link is so interesting on many points @nightowlsurprise. I have low AMH of 7 and absolutely no signs of endo... but after doing some research I'm hesitant to go through FET with my one and only PGS tested embryo. I just booked onto doing the transfer today with my first BT due on June 5 but concurrently have an appointment for June 7 with a OBGYN who specialises in endo and believes IVF should be a last resort. Tight timelines... but hopefully I'll be able get a lap done ASAP... and best case I do have endo, then at least that would explain the infertility... and increase my AMH levels at the same time! Wonder what the wait time is after a procedure to do a FET, although I'd like to try to conceive naturally if endo is found and treated for. I feel I was rushed into IVF, ICSI and PGS (ICSI required for PGS - hubby's sperm is fine) and PGS was recommended due to my age, I'm 38, (PGS another issue raised in the article) all without any explorative diagnostics done. I feel my AMH and my age was used to put me in a vulnerable position... and I was rushed into things to quickly... an easy money grab! I just have this feeling, I definitely don't want risk my frozen embryo if it's just going to fail to implant due to endo... excited and nervous... and would be so relieved to have some answers. Sorry for the ramblings... and you know, maybe my current FS is right... I'm not getting any younger but I feel he was negligent in not insisting on any investigations as endo. Stay tuned! Wish you @Pinklise all the best.

Default Low AMH & falling naturally

@augieandaddie, how long are your cycles usually? Any pimples or facial when you get your AF? Any spotting pre-AF? Is our AF light or heavy?

@nightowlsuprise Usually 28 days but after my chemical last month followed by a heavier period, this cycle has been a few days late. No pimples or facial... one day of brownish spotting before AF and prob about 5/6 years ago... I remember asking about passing larger clots as that wasn't normal for me but no follow up... I'd say the past couple years pretty average flow to light, but only a few days, so shorter then before.
