    Me. Because when I was 20, I had been out the night before and got back late, and forgot to put my phone on silent. The next morning I had a call before 6 - it was my brother telling me that my dad was in a critical condition at my local hospital (he lived in Sydney, we did not), and while he had been stabilised in ER, they were taking him up to ICU. I am forever grateful I forgot to put my phone on silent that night. I really hope I don't get another call like that, but if I do, I don't want to miss it. It might be my last chance.

    But, on topic. That was a seriously weird thing for a stranger to do and to continue harping on about it. Who could be bothered to go to all that effort for an early morning call from a number you didn't know!

    I never have mine on silent either but I have adult kids.
    Its not uncommon for me to be woken by the phone late at night or early in the morning so it wouldn't be that big of a deal here.

    She seems crazy. I probably would have gotten cranky by second or third text and let loose on her. So we'll done for keeping your cool.

    If you have an iPhone you can select do not disturb. It lets people on your favourites list still ring. Also if you call more than once in x amount of time it lets the call through.

    @WiseEnough

    You'd be surprised by the amount of people who don't do that.
