DH and I have had huge trouble choosing/agreeing on boy names. I agree with your DH in not liking nicknames as first names. I'm probably a bit of a traditionalist but I always think of the child as an adult and having choice to use the more formalised version of the name. I'm also a teacher and although the official name needs to be on school records, parents/children can choose a preferred name to be used daily at school
As your surname is Polish, are there any Polish names that could work in Aus?

    Boy names I've been liking:

    Harris
    Darcy
    James
    Edward
    Ellis
    Xavier
    Ezra
    Elias
    Elijah
    Austin
    Archer

@Yogis Mumma My DH's grandparents were from Poland, both his parents and himself were born here in Aus. So would be strange if we were to give him a Polish name haha.

It would be hard being a teacher and then trying to name a kid, i can imagine many children tarnish names that you would possibly consider using.

@curlybird it definitely makes it difficult being a teacher It's mainly the arrogant or irritating students that ruin it for me. But when I do like a name, I know that I really like it
