    Default Name Help!

We are finding it very hard to find a boys name that we both like! We had the name Oliver from when i was pregnant with our daughter but due to its popularity we have gone off it.

    Names that i like:
Louis (pronounced Louie or have louie as a nickname)
    Henry
    Owen
Charlie (DH thinks this sounds like a nickname and would want to use Charles which i don't like)

DH likes the name Alfred, it was his grandfathers name whom we never met and took his own life when DH's dad was very young. I feel like there is burden on this name and my FIL still has issues from his childhood due to his fathers death. I don't know how he would feel about us using this name either.

Our daughters name is Jasmine so would want something that goes well with her name. Our last name is a long polish name so wouldn't want it to be too long or have too many syllables.

Looking forward to hearing some suggestions Thanks!

I like all of those names but if your DH likes Alfred, what about Alfie as a compromise?? I think if you were going for Louie then don't spell it Louis as that how it would be pronounced.

Dh doesn't like my other suggestions and soley doesn't like Owen because of Owen Wilson and his crooked nose lol!!

He wouldn't go for Alfie as a name because its a nick name and thinks when he's older in a profession that he needs to have a proper name (not a nickname) which is why he didn't like Charlie as he thinks it sounds like a nickname.

So hard finding a name we both like 😣

We are in the same boat! I am due this week and we are struggling to settle on at least some definite options. I didn't think I'd have trouble naming a boy as I've always had many boys names I like. But that's the problem. Picking from my favs. But also getting dh to pick any. Our 2 favs are Oliver and Oscar. But on the list is also Seth, Samuel and Levi. I've liked Oliver the longest and worry I'll regret not using it but am also slightly turned off by its popularity. But am also struggling to find middle names that we like the flow. I would like to include dh's middle name Andrew but don't really think it flows after Oliver or Oscar and am finding it hard to come up with a name to link them. It's doing my head in.

Out if your list I like Charlie (not Charles), Henry and Alfie

I think all your boys names are lovely and I can understand your hesitation in using Alfred. Maybe you could ask your FIL how he feels and perhaps compromise and use it as a middle name?

My boys are Hamish Joseph and Clancy Jeremiah so obviously I love those names but others I had on my list at various times were
    Reuben
    Arlo
    Oscar
    Theodore
    Luca
    Dashiell
    Sullivan
    Benjamin
    Tennyson
    Leo
