Default Recommend me a porta cot

    Hi ladies

We are needing to get a porta cot as we travel a number of times throughout the year. (By car)

We are wanting something that isnt too bulky, has the different height settings and do you think a newborn insert is necessary?

It will be used from newborn to toddler age.

    Thanks in advance

I have the Phil and Ted's traveller portacot. It's super lightweight and compact for traveling - about 3kg and packs up into a tiny shoulder bag. It's quite different to a traditional portacot. My dd has loved it when we've used it and she's a super fussy sleeper who loves her cot at home! I'm not sure i would put a newborn in it though but I'd be comfortable with using it from about 3 months or so.

I had a Valco Baby Zephyr. It was so light and easy to set up. DD was in it til around 3.

It is a lot smaller than a traditional portacot, but it was so great for traveling. I loved it.

We have a Baby Bjorn Travel cot. We use it a lot when we visit parents and friends on weekends. Very light and airy. We bought it 50% off from a closing down sale.

We bought one from target with different height settings and a change table attachment which was handy when Bub was tiny. We don't use it all that often so didn't see the point in spending a lot of money on one that was similar but more expensive. It has a bag and weighs less than 10kg if I had to guess.

We have friends who have this and it's probably what we will get. So so easy to use unlike most, weighs nothing and is nice and compact. It is expensive but if you can get it on sale I would think it's worth it.
