    Default Nickname Edie

Which name for the nickname Edie (Ee-dee)?

    Eden or Edith?

Either, but my preference would be Edith.

My 1.5 yr old is Edith and we call her Edie for short. In honesty I wouldn't have thought of Edie being a nickname for Eden but it works.

My daughter is Edith and her nickname is Eadie. I was worried it would be pronounced Eddie otherwise. I was suggested Eden when pregnant, but the whole garden of Eden thing makes it sound like a hooker name to me

Either name can be shortened to Edie - as parents, you set the nickname (and spelling). I really like Edith as it's not common but a traditional name

I really like the name Eden but Edie could be a nickname for either. If I hear Edie though I tend to think Edith because DD has a kindy teacher who was Edith/Edie.
