Default EXTREMELY low P4- pregnancy stories?!

    Hi Ladies,

I'm looking for outcome stories of extremely low progesterone during early pregnancy!

I completed IVF#3 in April and had transfer #4 of 1 blasto. Had positive hpt from 7dp5dt and started bleeding at 9dp5dt (weird in itself because I don't get periods). Went in for a blood test that afternoon (a day early). Was told the next day that hcg was 35 and P4 was 27. Given my levels were low and because of the bleeding they deemed it as chemical and told me to stop the crinone which I did. Had my follow up bt today to see that levels were going back to baseline and my hcg is now at 252- more than doubling every 48 hours..shocked to say the least! Other hormones are extremely low- P4 is at less than 1 and E2 is at 35. They had me go in and I am going to start taking progynova 3xday and 6 P4 pessaries a day (at my request because I feel the crinone wasn't strong enough and my old clinic had me on 6 pessaries).

I'm not holding out any hope because I feel it would be a miracle and the nurse said they'd never seen anything like this and don't know what to think. But I would love to hear positive or negative stories from anyone else who has been in my situation with virtually nonexistent P4.

    Anyone out there?

    Thanks @Vixjc for your story.

Anyone else out there? Particularly with P4 around 1-2?

My p4 level at about 15 days post transfer was 17. Dr had a fit.. Saying below 10 and you are at risk of mc and likes it above 40. Upped the dose from 1200 mg p4 per day to 1600mg plus 2 x endometrin pessaries per day and level eventually went up. I am 27 weeks pregnant now.

Thanks for sharing @kylie764. My old clinic used to say it needed to be above 70 so not feeling very optimistic about it being less than 1!! It doesn't look like anyone has experienced anything that low before either 🙁

I'm not a doctor but previously mine has been less than 5 and I have gotten my period the next day so I wouldn't think 1 was enough to sustain a pregnancy. When mine was 11 I had a chemical pregnancy as it dropped too quickly. My clinic likes it above 30.

Thanks for your story @nattie84. That's what I'm thinking too, especially since I started bleeding and I don't normally have periods.
