aside from your partner - do you have a best friend? or group of close friends?

I have a female bestie that I speak to a few times a week and we catch up at least a few times a month. And a male bestie that I talk to a little less often.

I'm also very close to my SIL and we see each other or speak almost daily depending on work and life!

I also have an extended small group of close female friends and I try to catch up with them at least once every month or two. All these women know each other so I try to get us all in one place at least a couple of times a year.

For a long time I only had by best friend and all my other mates were male.

    Nope

I have about 4 people I would consider a friend.

Two are from high school. I see them less than once a year, only when I'm in Sydney (10 hours away) and talk to once every few months on Facebook.
1 only lives an hour and a half away and we talk stupid crap on snap chat most days. We make sure to catch up when in each other's towns.
Other one is my MIL. I talk to her every day.

Nope. I used to have best friends but each relationship ended at around the 10 year mark. I miss having a best friend. I have around 5 close female friends I see between once a week and once every six weeks. But all the friends I have made later in my life already had their own "best friend". I have my DH but it's really not the same.

Nope not really, I had one in high school but we grew apart and her life choices are very different to mine. We also live on the other side of the country to each other now.
I would love one in theory but I honestly don't have the time or the motivation. Life is too busy as it is.

I have a best friend who I have known since we were children. Our fathers were in the army together, and she was my first playmate. We are only 9 days apart. We have lived in different states, and we have gone many months without seeing each other, or even speaking, but the friendship is so strong, we don't need to communicate. I have a few friends from high school, and it is great to catchup with them. marie

Not anymore. I did have a best friend for over 25 years. We fell out about 6 months after I had my dd was born and I cut the friendship off
I do miss her and having someone in my life who knew me so well and so long but there's no going back sadly.

Nope. I don't have any real life friends, and never have, in my entire 42 year existence. I have heaps of acquaintances, but no-one seems to be willing to take the time and effort to go any further than that with me. I try myself, but having Asperger's Syndrome makes attempting to connect with other people extremely awkward, and I guess most just can't cope with all my quirks and eccentricities.

I have my best friend still from Year 8 whom I tell everything to and trust her so much. We are both having babies within a couple of months of each other this year which is exciting.

We don't speak on the phone much but we text a lot and see each other about once every 2 months - she's moved about a 50 min drive from me.

I also have a core group of about 4 girlfriends...I can't function without close friends...even when I moved overseas for a few years I soon developed a group of special friends!
