    Colours have no gender in our home. My DS chooses his own clothes and there are no rules.

    I'd buy him the helmet he wants! If in a year or so it still fits and he doesn't like the colour or theme (this would be my bigger concern, kids get 'over' things quickly) anymore you can always spray paint it a different colour!

    It's a weird feeling isn't it, when you catch yourself pausing and redirecting and then thinking why on earth did I do that?
    I teach my kids that there's no such thing as boy things and girl things and yet I catch myself subtly genderising things all the time. I p!ss myself off.
