Could she have worms? My daughter (same age as yours) started wetting herself without even realising until i decided to check her and she had worms- they get in their vaginas unfortunatelyanyway i wormed her and it fixed the problem.
Just a thought, might not be but never know![]()

Ok will worm her!
@Ssecretsquirrel how did you fix the constipation? I'm wondering if maybe she has leakage issues but it escalated to the point of not know she had wet herself with constipation. How do I clean her out?

We used Movicol Her bowel had stretched so she needed it for months (can't remember how long) to keep her regular and give her bowel a chance to recover. I would suggest seeing a doctor for a proper diagnosis before giving laxatives.
ETA in addition to urinary incontinence she was also leaking poo and had major skid marks in her undies.

We've been down (still going) a long road with my ds with this issue.
Long story short, he started wetting every day when starting school (after being tt for about 2 years.
We had tests and scans and eventually saw a pediatric urologist. First thing she asked was how often he was pooping. When he said every three days she requested a pelvic xray. The problem...constipation. Daily laxatives to get things moving and 2 hourly toileting fixed the problem.
Now we are on to the next step which is bed wetting. First step was increasing fluids (the two hourly toileting shrunk his bladder) to increase bladder size therefore making him able to go through the night without wetting. Third step (which we just started) is a bed wetting alarm.
We are nearly there. Its a long process.

If of they r regular they could still be constipated. Let me try and explain...
There could be a blockage that only allows a certain amount to come out. In other words, shes not getting rid of all of it even though shes going regularly. Some is still in there.

So we saw the specialist today. Went private as the 10-12 month wait for public didn't sound appealing!
As suggested in this thread the doctor mentioned constipation could be an issue. She's to take something to keep things moving. I discovered she hadn't done any poo at school! I assumed she had been.
Will have a scan to check kidneys and bladder.
She's to go try the toilet every 2 hours. After she's been she needs to sit there a few minutes then try again. She did this tonight and got more wee out.
Thanks everyone!

this will work gently if the child is constipated.

How did things go with your daughter? Her situation sounds somewhat similar to my daughter's but we are going on four years of this problem now

So it appears it is all linked to the bowel. She leaks when there’s a build up, so not all the time. They checked her kidneys and bladder and all was good.
We were told to take osmolax to move the bowel along and it does helps I don’t like giving it to her all the time so I just do it Friday and Saturday so I hopefully anything that comes out is at home.
I didn’t do it for a few weeks and she started to get smelly again. Did the powder and she was good.
We have to try and increase the capacity of the bladder by holding on as long as she can before going to wee. We’re terrible at remembering to do this so still need to work on it.
Good luck with your DD!
