Decision making about embryos in Australia – research participants needed
Flinders University researchers Associate Professor Damien Riggs and Dr Clare Bartholomaeus, both located in the School of Social and Policy Studies, are undertaking a study focused on decision making about embryos in Australia, including experiences of embryo donation.
We’re seeking participants in Australia to take part in a one hour interview via Skype or telephone, if you are someone who:
- Has donated or intends to donate frozen embryos to another person who will use them for the purposes of family making, or
- Has received or plan to receive frozen embryos for the purpose of family making, or
- Is considering what to do with embryos currently in storage.
The study focuses on decision making regarding embryo donation, emotional aspects of donating and receiving frozen embryos, understandings of family, and the role of clinics and counsellors in supporting donors and recipients.
If you are interested in being involved in an interview or finding out more, please contact Dr Clare Bartholomaeus: embryodonation@australianfamilydiversity.com
This research project has been approved by the Flinders University Social and Behavioural Research Ethics Committee (Project number 7051).
