    We own our house but have a huge mortgage, and it's 80% of the purchase price a year ago - I don't think it's gone up in value in the last 12 months because we overpaid for it.

    In addition, we have 4 investment properties, all mortgaged at 80% of the last valuation done a year ago.. they are definitely worth more now (Bondi beach apartments).

    At least it's all good debt! We have a lot of debt too, not as much as you though i'm guessing. T freaks me out when I add it all up but it's actually all manageable and there's plenty of equity in there.
